My full fee is a flat $250 per session. All sessions (individual intakes, couples sessions, and individual sessions) are 60 minutes. Any extended sessions would be prorated.
I do offer sliding scale! My sliding scale slots are limited and can fluctuate depending on my current caseload. Please feel welcome to ask at any time, but I reserve these for clients who are undergoing significant hardship or lack insurance coverage. In this case, if you have Kaiser or Cigna, please feel welcome to check.
I am in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue, and Carelon Behavioral Health via Headway.
For all other major insurers not listed (for example, United Health/Optum, Health Net, UMR, Magellan Health, etc.) I use Thrizer to bill the out-of-network claims on your behalf.
If you’re not sure what insurance you have, I’m happy to run a free verification of benefits so you can get an estimate of your coverage.
I currently am in the process of de-paneling from Blue Shield, so I will no longer be in-network with them. Once I am fully de-paneled, I will be able to bill them for out-of-network claims through Thrizer.
I am not accepting any more Cigna clients, either in-network or out-of-network. This qualifies you potentially for my sliding scale.
I do not take Kaiser, since they have no out-of-network benefits, so if we were to work together, it would unfortunately have to be out-of-pocket. However, this also does qualify you for my sliding scale.
I also do not take Medi-Cal or Medi-Care, and I would not be able to slide low enough that it would be affordable, so I would not be a good fit.
That’s a great question. I see clients on a twice weekly, weekly, and every other week basis. Monthly is reserved for clients who are in the maintenance phase, for safety reasons.
We can discuss, and we can always go up or down in frequency, but it will largely depend on what I feel is clinically appropriate to your situation.
My general rule of thumb is as follows.
Twice weekly is for when you need rapid changes and immediate support. I usually do this temporarily for clients who are in crisis or who recently have gone through something.
Weekly is a good catch-all frequency. It’s best for when you want to see steady changes. I see the best results with clients at this frequency.
Every other week sees some results, but slower. It’s good for when there’s issues that are ongoing but long standing, or things we’re processing from your past.
Monthly is only for check-ins. Clients don’t often see results at this frequency, so I save it only for clients who have already achieved the results they need and are working to maintain them.
I generally see clients Mon-Fri 10 am to 6 pm PST. I don’t offer Sat/Sun sessions. Currently I don’t have a waitlist, so I can see you as soon as you complete the intake paperwork and have received your estimate.
Great question! I’m licensed to see clients throughout the entire state of California. I take every measure to maintain privacy on my end, and most clients just log in from their homes. But you can log in from anywhere, so long as you feel it is private or secure enough for your comfort (i.e parked vehicles, empty offices, closed room). So long as you are safe and physically located in California at the time of being seen, we’re good!
For couples, it’s preferable for you to both be in the same location when you call, but if your schedules do not allow that, logging in from separate locations is fine.
In the event of technical or connectivity issues, phone calls are also acceptable.
